Free Newsletter: Consumer Health Digest

Consumer health encompasses all aspects of the marketplace related to the purchase of health products and services. Positively, it involves the facts and understanding that enable people to make wise choices. Negatively, it means avoiding unwise decisions based on deception, misinformation, or other factors.

In January 2001, the National Council Against Health Fraud began distributing a free weekly e-mail newsletter edited by Stephen Barrett, M.D., and cosponsored by Quackwatch. It summarizes scientific reports; legislative developments; enforcement actions; news reports; Web site evaluations; recommended and nonrecommended books; research tips; and other information relevant to consumer protection and consumer decision-making. It also calls attention to new articles on our Web sites. William M. London, Ed.D., M.P.H., is associate editor.
